Si Yu Sheng Hui (Resplendent Like Jade)

　　There seems to be a common belief in painting circles that paintings of plantain trees and lichees are easy to paint. However, this painting in front of you is by no means easy to paint. How could a work of ordinary appeal deservedly use the title "Resplendent Like Jade"? 　The natural-looking, pleasing plantain tree in this painting was drawn with only a small number of strokes. It is so beautiful and pleasant, so elegant and enrapturing. It appears so natural, without the slightest mark of artificiality. The plantain leaves were painted vigorously and spontaneously. Each of the elegantly simple and adeptly painted matching lichees was completed with just a small number of brush touches. Both the plantain tree and lichees lack any mediocrity and were painted without the slightest mental attachment in the mind of the artist.

　　The key point is that, with just a small number of simple strokes, the whole painting is impressively imbued with a strong jade-like charm and an auspicious air. This is aptly expressed in the following short poem: "Unfurl the painting scroll and the especially fragrant scent of ink is sent forth, permeating the viewer's mind and intoxicating him to the core. No more than a small number of strokes were applied. This is the king of paintings in which ink is used as sparingly as gold."

松鼠獻酪梨給三世多杰羌佛

關於“第三世多杰羌佛”佛號的說明
二零零八年四月三日，由全球佛教出版社和世界法音出版社出版的《多杰羌佛第三世》寶書在美國國會圖書館舉行了莊嚴隆重的首發儀式，美國國會圖書館並正式收藏此書，自此人們才知道原來一直廣受大家尊敬的義雲高大師就是宇宙始祖報身佛多杰羌佛的第三世降世，佛號為第三世多杰羌佛，從此，人們就以“南無第三世多杰羌佛”來稱呼了。這就猶如釋迦牟尼佛未成佛前，其名號為悉達多太子，但自釋迦牟尼佛成佛以後，就改稱“南無釋迦牟尼佛”了，所以，我們現在稱“南無第三世多杰羌佛”。尤其是，二零一二年十二月十二日，美國國會參議院第614號決議正式以His Holiness來冠名第三世多杰羌佛（即H.H.第三世多杰羌佛），這說明了美國國會對南無第三世多杰羌佛的尊敬。而且，第三世多杰羌佛也是政府法定的名字，以前的“義雲高”和大師的尊稱已經不存在了。但是，這個新聞是在南無第三世多杰羌佛佛號未公布之前刊登的，那時人們還不了解佛陀的真正身份，所以，為了尊重歷史的真實，我們在新聞中仍然保留未法定第三世多杰羌佛稱號前所用的名字。

　　公元二零零零年四月二十六日下午，隆智（即丹瑪．翟芒尊者第二世──編者注，下同）與覺海陪同多杰羌佛第三世雲高益西諾布頂聖如來在居舍法壇妙游池邊，此時三世多杰羌佛指著一株酪梨樹(英文為：avocado)說：「這樹上的果我一直都想給大家嚐一下。」隨後，三世多杰羌佛命隆智去找一個摘水果的果鉤，結果找了一圈，空手而回，眼看著樹上的酪梨不能到手，此時三世多杰羌佛說：「我們一定要用這個酪梨。」話音剛落，從蒼古的青松樹上下來了一隻絳黃色的松鼠，三世多杰羌佛說：「你們不要趕牠，牠來幫忙的。」這時松鼠在樹上開始查找酪梨，由於酪梨類似於樹葉的形體色彩，松鼠施展多種技能，包括飛騰、懸勾、倒掛，將稀少的酪梨從綠色的樹葉中一個個分辨出來，然後一個個摘下來，不到十分鐘，摘到第六個時，佛陀上師說已經夠了，隆智傳話說：「松鼠！你辛苦了！你的供養功德無量，不要再摘了。」松鼠聽聞後，趴在橫枝上，兩眼盯住三世多杰羌佛，將前掌合掌恭敬，一動不動。此六個酪梨即是松鼠當時摘下來的供養三世多杰羌佛的供品。

　　在三世多杰羌佛離開時，松鼠等在佛陀上師的正前方，向佛陀上師頂了一個禮後，才慢慢地走進樹林離開了。

　　此後僧尼們每日觀看，酪梨樹上雖有一兩隻松鼠在樹上竄動，但剩餘的酪梨一個也不見摘下。龍魚禮拜、動物獻果，這在歷代法王高僧中實難找有此功德者。

　　隆智和覺海所記載的松鼠摘果全是事實，如屬不實，我們願遭惡報。真實的功德悉皆回向六道眾生，得聞正法。

Everlasting Wondrous Appeal

　　On its surface, this is an impressionist painting. Large clusters of colors manifest subtle changes. Standing near the painting, one sees clusters of colors painted on a flat surface. Standing far away from the painting, the effect one sees changes to that of a three-dimensional sculpture. What is amazing is that without wearing three-dimensional glasses, one can still very clearly see a three-dimensional effect.

　　The theme of this painting resembles seeing Mars through a telescope. The artistic clusters of yellow, red, black, and blue seem to have been created through the process of natural planetary erosion over millions of centuries. These colors exist in motion; they are constantly changing and transforming. In short, this painting will bring delight to those who view it.
